Talked with a few people.
I know many are eagerly anticipating the pin as well as the game promo
video.
Stern is listening from past experiences and from what I gather the
delay is getting the video edited and completed. They are taking a
big step into this pin in video promotion detail.
The video will show gameplay, shots, rules and explanation similar to
that of the classic great Williams videos. Should be a nice
production.
Patience, the game is going to be amazing !!
Plenty of folks here appreciate Jason's inputs, so if you have an
issue, skip the thread.
+1
There are a few Trons out there already. Stern shipped them with
really early software to a few select distributors. A major software
revision is imminent and videos are also. I bunch of people in
Floridawill be playingTrontomorrow. ;-)
From what I here it is a GREAT game. More info and mini-review here:

Great, great info. Thanks for that link. Will keep watch on that forum
- should be more mini reviews.
Good quote from the fella that played it though - "balls come flying
at you from all directions...like the prom queen cheerleader in high
school"
There is supposed to be a crazy spinning magnetic toy that has not
been done before...
John
Early on I also thought the disc had a magnet like Lost In Space.
Not the case at all, there is no magnet in the disc.
It's designed like no toy before it , ala POTC or CSI.
The ball gets shot into the disc area, goes past the disc and once
settling back in the disc it randomly will get shot out similar to an
old pitch and bat game. Could be fast, slow, or a curve wind up.
The are 2 light rings lit, one orange when the 3 bank comes down when
accessed and then a 2nd blue one on when disc multiball starts.
Ahh that's too bad I was really excited about that. I enjoy the games
with magnets and it doesn't seem likeTronis going to have any. Oh
well it will prolly still be really fun.
Pretty sure the whole disc mechanism is magnets and motors.. just not
like you've seen on a pin before I think. Nothing moves topside of
the playfield, but there's this randomness of just how the ball is
grabbed and pitched around by the disc area. Only way I know of to
grab a pinball through non moving plastic is magnets :)
So your saying it doesn't have a spinning disc on top of the
playfield? But it's underneath with magnets? Have you played it yet?
I'm just wondering if at any point does it grab the ball and hold it
before it starts spinning and throwing it?
The plastic disc is like CSI with a rubber pad on top. But the way
it's designed and the area which holds the ball and the exit of the
ball are what's different that make for some very cool randomness.
