Hey Everyone,
I ordered two sheets of the non-glare glass from Pinball Decals, one
for an Iron Man and the other for an LOTR. After installing the glass
and playing a few games, I have to tell you, the folks at PD are not
kidding when they say it looks like there is no glass installed. The
LOTR is stock with the exception of a full LED kit, and it is amazing
how invisible the glass is. There is absolutely no reflection from the
translite, or the overhead light fixture. The Iron Man playfield has
an automotive clear-coat and a full LED kit. I recently waxed the
playfield, and with this new glass, it really gleams. So much so that
I thought the glass was reflecting the translite, and it took me a
second to realize that the reflection was coming from the playfield
itself.
Just in case, I have nothing to gain from this glowing review. I'm
just a satisfied customer.

There is absolutely no doubt that this glass is the bees knees. I
hope it comes down in price someday I would use it exclusively in my
games even at $150 a pop.

I was thinking the same thing as you guys about the PDI glass “yeah
I’m sure it’s better than great but until the price drops etc…etc…”
I would not install this glass in some beat up $100 craigslist find…
BUT if you have Collector Quality or Home Use Only games its a sin not
to have this glass installed and you’re a fool for waiting to buy it
for your pride and joy pins based on price ( at least I feel like one
for waiting for something that is not going to happen)…ask yourself
this…if you spend $500,000 on a Ferrari would you shop around for USED
tires for it, or better yet keep the old tires on it even though it
greatly reduces the performance of the car. Normal playfield glass is
JUNK compared to the PDI glass.
I just installed 2 sheets, one in my TZ and one in my IJ and the
difference is incredible. I went ahead and sprung for it and I am glad
I did. Since then my family has ONLY played TZ and IJ.
IT IS WORTH THE CURRENT PRICES, every penny in fact.
Those that are waiting for a price drop will be waiting forever as the
prices are not going to drop, they are going to rise. After installing
the 2 sheets on my wide body games I quickly realized that this are a
MUST HAVE on ALL my games, so I went to order a sheet for each of the
remaining games in my collection, unfortunately they sell so fast that
there is waiting period at this time for the standard size sheets…no
matter how many pieces PDI gets in stock the pinball community in the
know quickly snatches up.
TRUST ME, stop waiting for the price to drop and start waiting for
FedEx to drop off your PDI glass…playing pinball will never be the
same.
