Re: NEW LED KITS AND BULBS AT BCSPINBALL: Monopoly, Hook, and LED sale

Spencer,

My biggest problem with some LEDs is the strobing effect. Some cheap
LEDs (like the ones that the guys on the Village BBS bought last year
in bulk) make the playfield look like a disco. Do you notice any more
flicker/strobe from one brand or the other?

By the way, you are not the only one I've heard note the poor
mechanical fit with the Cointaker LEDs...

Wow.
I guess now is the time to post my Expo LED purchase comparison...
I bought $100 of each LED sellers product at Expo.
Since I wanted to 'test' each for future purchasing, I made both
purchases pretty much the same, with an equal amount of white and
color bulbs, split between an equal amount of 555 and 47 size sockets.
All bulbs were frosted.
Light/color wise I saw little difference, with BCs being a 'little'
brighter when looking at directly, but viewed from above an insert
looked the same.
The problem I found was that some of Cointaker's 555s tended to be
loose in the socket, and after installed would sometimes need to be
pushed back in as they had worked loose from basic game vibration. The
BC 555s fit tight and did not have this problem. The Cointaker 47s had
a problem where when installing them, like original bulbs, you push
them into the socket and turn to lock. The dome on the Cointaker 47s
CAME LOOSE and spun, causing the bulb to no longer work. This happened
to 3 of them before I stopped. I am going to try them in another game
currently being restored to see if the same thing happens there, to
make sure the first game didn't have 'tight sockets', although normal
bulbs twist and lock with no problem, and the BC 47s also had no
problems. Their dome did not spin loose while installing.

I will say that both dealers at Expo were VERY polite and neither bad
mouthed the others product in my presence.
I really think it's unprofessional to do so here in a public forum.
I'm not too keen on BCs website talking down un-named 'competitors'.
Just say something like 'what make our leds better is...'
Let your product, and the reviews of those that buy it, speak for
itself.

In response to Bruce's post....I Melissa Marquette just verified by
placing an order on my own website that shipping is not charged by the
weight and volume and has never been. It's just another one of his
lies to try and make us look bad.  Our shipping is based on Total
Dollar order and how much we can fit into a flat rate shipping box
Also, we have had many kudos about how cheap our shipping charges are.
Our kits contain ALL led's and no colored incondescent bulbs as some
of our competitors do.

We as well as Bruce, work directly with our Manufacturer to provide
the best led on the market at the best price.  We have engineered our
bulbs to OUR specifications and they are not just off the shelf
led's.
I'm sick and tired of all the trash talking and have kept my mouth
shut up till this point.  But feel that I must finally speak
up...Enough is enough...

Our warranty on our bulbs is LIFETIME.  If you have a problem we will
work with you to fix it.

I guess Bruce just needs to toot his own horn everyonce in
awhile...Not sure why he feels he needs to make stuff up.

Also, our bulbs have components built in as well to not short out or
overload driver boards....
For as much time as Bruce spends trying to make his bulbs sound
superior you would think that he would atleast know the truth about
his competitors.
He's just pissed off because he knows he's been raping his customers
over the past 3 years by making a large profit on these bulbs and can
no longer do so.
