Re: Loud Hum/Buzz From Speaker on Flash. No game sounds at all. WTF?

A chip installed backwards usually results in a burned out or damaged
chip, and should be replaced.  Following is a link to a type 1 sound
board schematic and layout.  This relates to system 3, and the only
difference in the layout is system 4 added a fuse to the other input
to the bridge rectifier and a small capacitor is relocated.

I have a Flash type 1 soundboard that has all new chips with every
chip socketed except one.  The board also has all new electrolytic
capacitors.  This board was used for testing purposes and needs a new
5K pot installed which I have on my list of things to do.  I have a
customer interested but thus far not committed to purchase this board
since it needs the new pot.  If you might be interested in this sound
board let me know.

A logic probe and a voltage detector are completely different test
tools.  Someone on this group recently posted  logic probes for sale.
Do a search on this group. Following is a cheap but nice Fluke logic
probe.  I don't know about the store.

The Radio Shack scope probe as seen in Clay's guide is long dropped
from Radio Shack inventory.

Oh I missed your post initially. Thanks for those links. Maybe I
don't need the sound board info right now, but I'll definitely grab it
& keep it in my back pocket for future use (or maybe current use
depending on if my board holds up). Also thanks for letting me know
about my voltage detector. I didn't open it yet, so I'll take it
back. I know I'm gonna need a logic probe eventually working on all
this pin stuff.
I may buy the one you linked me too. IDK who is selling them here at
RGP, I think Steve K might have some?
