No to all your questions.

D7 is used to keep the voltage from spiking back into the board when the
coil de-energizes. It is likely what's taking out your fuse, but not what
caused Q20 and Q22 to be bad.

Also test Q19, Q21 and Q23. Compare them to the working transistors near
them.

I figured I would start a new post and try to be clear on the problems
along with the troubleshooting I've done. Any tips would be
appreciated as I'm fairly new to this.

Rudy's Eyes or eyelids don't function
Continues to blow fuse 104
Bad Driver transistor Q24
Only blows when power connector is connected
Found short on coil (might have been from my test lead)
Repaired short, all coils test fine.
Continues to blow fuse
Disconnect wires from suspect coil and cap off
Continues to blow fuse
Cut out suspect drive transistor
Fuse doesn't blow! Rudy functions work except disconnected coil and
missing drive transistor
Replaced drive transistor, fuse blew along with 3 drive transistors
all shorted on right side q20, 22, 24

I'm guessing I missed something in Rudys head, is that crazy that I
blew 3 transistors (that I found so far)?
I guess I'll completely disassemble Rudy and test each coil outside of
the box but something just doesn't seem right. Any suggestions would
be awesome as I'm losing my mind over this!

Thanks for the reply. D7 tested bad. Everything else was fine. I
couldn't find any info in the manual about D7. Is this the transistor
that pre drives the pre-driver transistor? Could this have caused
those 3 drive transistors to go?

So there still must be a problem in the Rudy head...   Is there any
way for me to test the head without risk of destroying more
transistors?

I pulled the board out and cut out d8. After that q20 and q22 tested
fine. I replaced d8 and q24.
Powered up the game fine.
Went into Rudy Test, and fuse plus the new diode and transistor blew
again. I'm getting weird readings on q20 and q22 again also.
I tried tracing the wire and saw no pinches. New coils should be in
tomorrow, I'm gonna replce the questionable one and there was also one
in there that was the wrong value.
Hopefully during disassembly I will find something loose.
Any other thoughts?
