Pinball stars were in alignment this weekend.

Wow, a lot of pinball related happenings.
1. I think I figured out why my Williams Flash general illumination
lights were not working. I think I have a power supply/transformer
problem. Found my multimeter and the voltage level to the GI lines
was a meager fraction of what it should be. I thought maybe I had a
broken wire or a blown fuse, but I tested it at the fuse pack and so
there you go. And I noticed some burn/discoloration on the power
panel, so its looking like its due for a trip to the repair shop.
2. Picked up a Bally Strikes and Spares from a nice couple in Colorado
Springs off CL. It needs the bridge rectifiers repaired on the power
supply. Its been gathering dust for a few years, and the backbox is
filthy, but the backglass is in very nice shape with only a few
scratches, and the playfield/plastics look very nice. One of the pop
bumper caps will need to be replaced (it has some lamp burn), and of
course it needs to be shopped with new lights and rubbers.
3. As I mentioned in a earlier post, my brother had wanted to get a
Jackbot or a Twister. A gentleman in Parker had a Twister for sale,
and I was able to pick it up for my brother in North Carolina. I'm
going to have to put in a great seller alert for this guy. The
Twister was one of the nicest, cleanest examples of one I have ever
seen. This had been his winter "bad-TV" project, and he had
meticulously gone over this pin. The playfield was clean, the plastic
ramps were clear and clean, and he had followed the service alert and
made the repairs needed. He had replaced the missing tanker truck
with a car-hauler semi, but it was to scale and looked like it
belonged there. The Twister spinning magna-disk was balanced and
leveled and did not fling balls into the air. The sound chips had
been upgraded by someone in Canada for better sound quality and
clarity. I had just played one at a local retailer and it was twice
the price and nowhere near as nice. And he was a classy guy himself,
so it looks like I have a new pinball friend about a half-hours drive
away. He was not aware of RGP so I will be introducing him to
TOPCast, the newsgroup and other things. This was a win-win-win...
So, now I need recommendations on who is the best shipper to go with
to send this pin back to my brother. I will have my carpentry buddy
work with me on this to build a good shipping crate to send this pin
to him. In the meantime its in my living room where my family is
having some fun with it. (With my brother's permission, of course.)
Questions:
1. Any other Flash owners experience this power problem with the GI?
2. Best place online to order LED bulbs (#44, #89 replacements, and
maybe some 3 color cycling LED)
3. Need to ship the pin from Aurora, CO, to Hillsborough, NC.
(Looking for BEST shipper, not the fastest or cheapest; I want this
pin to arrive in great shape.)
4. Random Tips on shipping (remove loose items like balls and parts,
best way to crate it, etc)
5. I'm looking at taking my power supply problems to Game Exchange in
Denver for repair, anyone have experience with their service
department?
.
