John,
Is the game doing theAtariBeat? BLINK-chugga-BLINK-chugga-BLINK... or
is it a single 'FLASH' and then dead?
I'll have to power it up again and see, not sure?? Do you like
videos??
It seems to go through one complete/partial?? attract mode cycle. On
Space Riders I believe the PF insert lights do a wipe from bottom to
top then nothing.
Its broken.
YES
No single IC will cause the 'FLASH - dead' cycle as the watchdog reset
should force it into theAtariBeat.
NOT sure what the Atari BEAT is. ???
The sentence after 'theAtariBeat?' is what it is...Blink-chugga-Bl...

Of course I would start with the RAM...after hooking up my Fluke 9010A
to the MPU.
Don't seem to have one of those around. =< Well 8060A and 20 or
30Mhz scope. Nope no 9010A. NICE.
The 9010 is VERY handy around the well equipped digital repair ship...

I would also verify that the MPU and AUX board have the transistor
modification (rare that a pair doesn't have this) that makes it blank
when in trouble.
Never read about this. Are there any atari pin Tech bulletins to look
at?? or a link you could send??
Link? Hmm, I have the tech bulletin, but that would involve me finding
it, scanning it, and then posting to Flippers...send me a naggy email
and I'll get around to it...

Thanks John I am starting to get excited about getting this one
going. So I can have a trade machine, and it starting to feel like
winter is coming already. Nice time to fix old problems.
These older Atari pins are not too hard to fix - with a Fluke and its pod....

Mike,
did not mean to jump in and bust up your post with my old not in a
hurry problem, and I just thought that if you wanted some V/Ohm
readings from a working one well. No need to laugh.
Offer still open.

Oh and how the hell do you play more than 1 player? It says 1-4 can
play. But wont take more than one, with the start button.

MIKE

Add more credits...if that does not work then you have a RAM problem (most likely).
