Ahem, the lawyers are in bed with the insurance companies - where do
you think they get paid from? Doctors don't write checks for millions
of dollars - insurance companies do! Wake up!

By the way, if the insurance companies are forced to compete with a
subsidized plan they will have to cut costs to stay in business. Your
ridiculous amount that you pay would be forced to go down - or you
could select the public option which will be cheaper.

Yes,actually it has!! The single MOST important thing that we will ALL
benefit from is stem cell research which Obama opened up after "W"
refused to do so! Advances in medicine and cell behavior along with
the fervent research being done on the human genome, will be
beneficial to every single person on the planet at some time in our
lifetimes! How colossal of an idiot do you have to be to refuse the
scientific study of human beings?? President Bush was the shining
example of the single most closed minded decision made in human
history over the last four centuries. The earth isn't flat - thank
science for proving it.

Actually things are getting better but we're not out of the woods yet
and Obama does not deserve all the credit for this either. Markets
will correct themselves but sometimes the length of time is
unacceptable for the situation; such as the depression/recession
brought about during the previous administration. Remember, this
country had a billion dollar surplus when W came into office. Then he
decided to play with his army men and sent us off to another couple of
unnecessary wars that continue to this day. Had his Daddy taken care
of Osama bin Laden when he had the chance - the toy box and its
associated costs would not have been opened (hopefully)!

Since he hasn't run for re-election yet, your observation is based on
a false premise and thus is an epic fail!


Actually I would be antithesis of someone who has been brainwashed.
Especially since I hate both sides of the aisle equally! However, just
as I had to endure the "hands-off-let-big-business-rape-the-American-
people-at-every-opportunity" (Haliburton, Enron, Exxon, etc.) Bush
administration, I will whole-heartedly embrace the current efforts
being attempted to correct some of the most glaring problems with our
country. I don't agree with everything blindly and I have plenty of
sources for contention (bank bailouts - more on this in a second), but
on the whole, we are headed somewhat in the proper direction. This is
light years from the previous three administrations.

Bank bailouts - the banks didn't need the money of the American people
- the American people needed it! The banks are rebounding nicely and
have made so much money that most have already paid back their debts
and the interest! How could they make this much money in such a short
time? They took it from us! We bailed them out with our money and they
paid it back - with our money. The banks took both piles and laughed
all the way home (to the bank)! What should have happened was the
American people could have been bailed out instead - it was their
money in the first place! It could have been done on paper (silicone)
easily enough. Allow X amount of a credit to pay off debt only (say
5k) - no free check to run around and buy toys with! Now when the
money is used pay off debt the banks no longer hold any toxic assets,
people aren't forced from their homes and even less money is spent
(about 1.5 trillion). instead, the banks took the money - won't loan
it out - and the country will s-l-o-w-l-y attempt to recover.

Try this: pick a news story say, health care reform, for instance. Now
go find at LEAST 10 different unrelated news sources with varying
angles and see what they say (Faux News, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC,
BBC, NPR, Reuters, VOA for examples). The truth is usually the facts
all of them contain, the rest is conjecture, observation, commentary
(personal opinion), or politically motivated drivel. Take the facts,
ask yourself what the real problem is, devise a solution for yourself
or adopt something that is already on the table and note the
exceptions that would make it more appealing.

If that is being brainwashed, then I would be guilty! I tend to
believe I'm far more of an independent thinker who prefers to do my
homework before I open my mouth. I tend to avoid most political
discussions with short minded people and in public forums but today
that was not to be.

Bring me something you have thought of on your own - I'll be happy to
know that you're not a totally hopeless brainwashed Faux-News clone!!

I'll even give you another one of my own ideas to germinate your stale
grey matter rattling around unused: controlling our borders which is
somewhat related to the health care crisis since many Americans are
footing the bill for many non-Americans.

Here's my idea for the borders of our country:
Clear cut 250 yards on our side of the borders (North and South), fill
the 100 yards against the border with deep, fine sand - this will slow
down those on foot. Then, do all of our military training on the other
150 yards. The sand is a shoot to kill zone - if you're caught there -
you'll be caught dead there. Clean it out like a cat box on a daily
basis. You do want the fence though - it's a backdrop to keep the
innocents on the other side from being unintended victims.

Of course if I could make some of the decisions on my own: I'd outlaw
astroturf for professional sports, dissolve the IRS and eliminate the
Federal income tax (that was supposed to be temporary!), teachers
would get paid what congressmen get and congressmen would make what
teachers make and be expected to pay for some of their own supplies,
cancel daylight savings time, make school days the same length as work
days - 10 hours, and go to a four day work/school week!
