Re: FS: Low usage Pin2K computer system

You do realize that you're only "pulling" your posts from Google's
newsreader right? All other real newsreaders will not delete your deleted
posts and once you hit send, it's there forever. Just FYI.

As for the prices talked about here, I agree $950 is a bit much at this time
for the computer system. It wasn't too long ago though that the PRISM
itself would have set you back about $750, and that's IF you could find one.

Also, if you're going to do NUCORE right, you'll want an LCD instead of the
original monitor. So tack on another $250-$350 for an LCD monitor that will
fit and another $75 for the mounting hardware for it. So you're now at
$1458 to get NUCORE in a game and working/looking nicely. Don't forget
shipping costs for all this good stuff too, so you're easily over $1500 just
to get all the stuff you'll need and *then* you get to install it all. $950
isn't looking so bad anymore...

Especially since those motherboard capacitors are prone to bulging and

that it's the case/motherboard/prism, etc I think $600 would be fair,
though.

Pin2K computer system - $950 shipped in lower 48 of US

Well, I recently completed converting my machine over to Nucore. ?I
wasn't sure I wanted to sell the original stuff. ?But, I've been talked
into putting it up to see if there is any serious interest.

So, this is a low usage Pin2K computer complete with case, motherboard,
PRISM card, power supply, and audio amp. ?The total on-time of the
system was 5 1/2 days with 1683 games played.

I'm not willing to part it out at this time. ?$950 including shipping
in
the lower 48 states. ?If you are also interested in the Wells-Gardner
monitor, I'll add that for $150 but shipping for the monitors will be
extra and depend on where you are. ?If you don't want the audio amp,
I'll knock $100 as I can use it elsewhere. ?If you want to pick it up
locally or at Expo (and pay cash), that will reduce it by $50. ?ROMs
are
not necessarily included but are negotiable.

For comparison, a Nucore complete system that is plug and play with
your
existing monitor is going to cost you $1085 plus shipping from PBL. ?If
you want to build it yourself, it can be done for a little less than
that.

Seriously interested people can contact me for more details, photos,
shots of audit screens, machine history, etc.

Thanks for your interest!
Jaz

$950 for an old system that is basically an old PC that has the
potential to break down at any time? It's not the usage but the age of
the components that is the issue. You could buy a whole brand new
system as you did for $100 more? Sounds kind of like you replaced your
hardware with the nucore system, and you want someone to pretty much
buy it for you, and you'll give them the old system in exchange? I'm
sorry maybe I come from a different planet like Mars or something, but
this price is a bit ambitious to say the least...

$300-400 would be a more than generous offer if you ask me...- Hide

I pulled that post because I don't really have knowledge as to the
collectability of these systems and how many are out there that still
work.
I do agree though that asking $950 to start which is pretty much
150-200 less than a new one shipped is pretty steep. Another reason I
pulled my post though is also that I was speaking from a PC knowledge
standpoint and 10 year old PC hardware is pretty much free at the end
of a driveway, but Pin2K hardware has other value aspects and
usability in a valuable machine and that can drive the price to a
higher level, so when you say $600 I agree that is probably closer to
a fair asking price...
