Re: Pocket Programmer 3 Question

Really depends on your eraser, too.

My big eraser will erase 100+ 32 pin eproms. It's 15 years old and could really use new tubes, but the MFG wants around $300 for a set of 4.

Since it still works, I just erase for longer.

My portable eraser in my toolbox hasn't been used very much and will erase chips much faster.

The manufacturer of the programmer I use told me long ago that I should erase a particular part, checking it a minute at a time, and once it shows erased, triple the time taken to erase the first chip for the entire batch.

It's worked well for me for years.

Sounds like I need to reduce my erase time too. I usually use 5-10.

Really that short? I usually use 10 minutes for all the 2732's I use
and do them 2 cycles. I didn't know you could damage eproms by too much
UV (well, 20 minutes anyway).

I'd love to be able to erase them faster..... I'll have to crank down
the timer on my eraser (10 minutes was what the directions said to use
for most eproms and that was the default setting)
