Thanks for the offer.
I'm interested if your board has 2 x "DIP switches" and 2 x "LED
lamps" along with the 7 segment LED display?
I have one which has the above along with the 2nd "diag switch". It
appears to have the original BK #500 Game ROMs.
Was this common, or only on the early BK sys 7 boards that still had
the transformer in the Backbox (as one of mine does)? I know it was
needed on some shuffleboard games as they still used the DIP Swtich
functtions.
I'm planning to document the LEDs in the Sys7 logic daigram, as it's
possible to add the 2 x LEDs back on the top pads, along with 2 x 100
ohm resistors at R49 and R50. Clay's guide covers that for
trobleshooting so the diagram will show that mod.
Should I draw the DIP switches, and all the other "optional" parts
that are not relevant to BK and sys7 pinball? Or will that just
confuse someone troubleshooting and not familiar with reading circuit
diagrams?
Any comments are welcome before I publish the logic diagram.
I suppose I could do a ver1 and ver2, but I don't know the board
designations to use, mine with all the extras says: 5764-09465-x4.
5764-09465-x3 also had the extra parts - seen on ipsnd.net
What is the other type without extras that became the normal sys 7 CPU
(or MPU) board?
I knocked up a quick index to what I have done and published so far on
sys7.
The extra items are shown but listed as "not used" on the Sys 7 CPU
Assembly drawing, as that was easy to do.
Available here, 5th link down from top: www.blackknightpinball.co.uk
BTW- The 1st link, a redrawn PDF of the BK Instruction booklet has
been submitted to ipdb.org
Cheers

For anyone searching the thread, a System 7 CPU LOIGIC Diagram
(Schematic) is now (July '09) available at:
www.blackknightpinball.co.uk
I decided to document the extra 2 x LEDs , 2 x DIP Switches and 2 x
Diagnostic Switches.
I have a working System 7 CPU / MPU Board with original Blue labeled
Black Knight Proms on which the drawings are based.
I decided not to document interfaces that are unused and do ot appear
on the board.
If anyone has further information on the extra connector mentioned
earlier in the thread, I'd be interested to know. It connected to the
PIA V at IC36 but I'm not sure how it was to be used. It is mostly
PB0-PB5 of the PIA, as well as ST7 to CA2 and ST8 to CB2.
Perhaps this an expansion port to allow more solenoids or flashers due
to the limitations of the System 4-7 driver board. This was before
the intoduction of the Solenoid A/C select relay. I think this
solution wasn't available until WMS System 11a (from Big Guns ?).
Happy Flipping!
