I had a MA shipped to me a couple months ago. The machine arrived
safely, well packed, but had one nagging problem. In play, all the
controlled lamps would go dark. They might stay off for a while, they
might come right back on, and when they did come on, they may or may
not stay on... it was very random.
It turned out it was the slide on connectors on the single fuse
mounted to the inside right side of the head. New, tighter connectors
and it's been perfect ever since.
So I agree, check connectors. Even if they look good.

Found a couple of blown fuses and of course they are ones that I don't
have.
Also can anyone tell me the positioning of the two connectors on the
lower left side of the CPU? I think I have them correct but want to
make sure since both are 4 pin and not indexed
OK fuses replaced. Lights and coils work now. But still a missing
ball ???
Also sometimes when the game is turned on it's like the CPU won't
boot. The GI turns on but the displays stay dark. Have to power cycle
the machine then it works
