Does the switch make a "click" noise when you press the actuator? If not
it
may need to be adjusted so it can open. When you press and release the
actuator, it should click twice.

Does the switch come up closed in switch test mode when you push it?

If it does, the switch is good. The diode probably too. It may be
shorted. In that case, it may cause other phantom switch closures to
occur if multiple switches are pressed elsewhere.

The switch could also be intermittent (flaky).

Microswitches have three contacts. One is the 'selector', the other
is normally connected to it (NC), and the other connected to it only
when the switch is pushed (NO).

Switch 46 (mini playfield) comes up in the test report as not working.

Two questions:

1) How can I test to see if it a bad switch or a bad Diode?

I have three connections: two white/green wires going to actuator end,
two green/yellow to the middle connection and the diode is connected
to the other end and the actuator end connection.

2) Is there a site that describes how a micro switch works? What each
connection is used for?

The switch shows as "closed" in the switch test as is. When I press
the switch, nothing happens.- Hide quoted text -

It does click, but stays closed in the switch test.

Everything looks OK, the bad switch is wired just like the one next to
it that works, diode in same direction.

The switch worked fine until today.

How can I tell if it is the switch or the diode with a DMM? Power on
or off when I check it?
