Steve,
I don't know any of you guys, it was just a suggestion.
I have to repair pretty much everything myself and as cost effective
as possible. But some folks that are better of financially, don?t
have the technical skills, or want to spend their time better like
playing ball with the kids. It was just a quick suggestion don?t beat
me up.
Side note: to ED
-Ed is GPE Great Plains Electronics?? A newly made friend just told
me about you. I have not checked into it yet but will likely be a
new customer, any special links or things I should know?
Shoot me an email.
Chris
Things to know...
Like most other Molex connectors, the Gottlieb edge connectors -suck-. Once
you get the machine mostly working, you'll probably find little issues that
are connector related. New pins normally fix this.
Big filter cap... find it... if original, replace it...
If reusing existing power supply (not too hard to rebuild but see next
issue) -- replace all electrolytics on this board. They're old and they're
cheap.
That big power supply transistor on the hotplate heat sink can be a royal
pain in the arse...
Good gounds make a world of difference. Read Clay's articles on Gottlieb:
http://www.pinrepair.com/sys80/index.htm
Read it -- pop quiz in the morning!
And if ever in doubt, ask here on the newsgroup .. usually there is somebody
that has been there and seen that...
Ed
