Re: AFM molex connector replacement

I need to replace the connectors for both J105 and J106 on my AFM.
Both are burned and are causing some GI issues.  I have an extra power
driver board and am going to send the current board out for repair and
pin replacement.  I need to replace the burned molex connectors and
have never attempted this before.

I only have 2 pins and do not expect to need to replace connectors
very often, so I do not want to make a huge investement in tools.  I
have visted GPE and other pinball websites, but it is not 100% clear
to me exactly what I need to order to replace the J105 and J106
connectors.

With all that being said, what I am really asking for is a list of
exactly what I need to order for the parts to fix these two connectors
and also a recommendation on the necessary tools I will absolutley
need to fix this.  I assume I will need a crimper, but am not sure if
I can do without an extraction tool.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Rob

I just did the same thing. The operator had put in a new driver board
so I first just replaced the J105/J106 connectors.

When I was done, it still didn't work because of J103 being fried
also. It broke when I pulled it off to check it.

So I ended up buying from GPE. I would just ask Ed but here is what I
used if I can read my notes correctly.

CS156-11-LR Connector, Plug, 11 Pin with Locking Ramp,0.156" for J105
and J106
CS156-12-LR Connector, Plug, 12 Pin with Locking Ramp, 0.156"for J103
15-04-0219 Keying Plug, 0.156"

For these plugs - use crimp contact 08-52-0113

I bought the economical crimper from him and have not had any problems
after a few practice crimps.

NOTE: Since I don't do this very often, I just buy the plugs with the
number of pins I need and avoid cutting larger sizes down.
