it seems like only half of the vertical deflection is present. id bet

then get in the schematics and track down the prob.
as always, a first rule, recap the chassis and reflow the header pins.
then go from there.
Ok. I don't know off hand cause it is a conversion. Not sure if the
monitor is original or not. Just wanted to see if anyone had seen
this specific issue and knew off hand. I will update the post when I
pick it up and take a look at it.
Most vertical problems are capacitors. The problem usually gets
gradually worse over time. Another clue is if the height increases
somewhat as the game warms up. If this is the case for sure is caps.
If you use a cap kit, make sure it's decent quality. One tip that you
are installing crap capacitors is if the new capacitor is larger
physical size than the original.
Like Ron says - don't use cheap caps!!!
Xicon's and other Chinese electrolytics = junk!
Also, go with higher temp caps. Don't go with the cheaper 85C caps. The 85C
caps are good for most applications but monitors is not one place to use
them. If you're going to recap the monitor spend a few extra pennies and go
with 105C caps.
