Tech: TZ mini playfield magnets

I have never been satisfied with the strength of my TZ mini-playfield
magnets. They work, but not a lot of movement of the pinball's. And I have
not played another TZ in a long while and cannot compare it.
So I decided to try to check voltages and the voltage drops.
Voltage to the magnets and to J124 pins 1 & 2 are fine (75 VDC) in the off
position, which tells almost nothing at all. When I have them under test
(solenoid test - repeating), the problem is that they engage just
momentarily, and the voltage on the pins and on the tabs of Q24 and Q26 drop
momentarily. My DVM is most likely not fast enough to read them as it drops
to just 61 or so volts.
I guess this tells me that there is not a resistance problem in the plugs,
since the tab voltages of the Q's read about the same when engaged as the
plugs do when running the magnet test.
So I guess I am SOL trying to check them that way. They both seem to have
about the same strength, so I guess they are fine. But there has to be some
way to check them.
Suggestions?
