Frenchy, I have installed Colored 44's in a couple of BK's under the
Inserts & it really brings them back to near the original colors &
brightness.
I No longer have a BK in the house to experiment with but the new
Colored Triple Led 44's should really kick up the brightness.

What exact colors did you use?
Another thing is that I'm not sure if the 2X + 5X inserts are REALLY
supposed to be more purple than all the other inserts in the game, but
they seem to be on mine.  2X and 5X are the only round inserts on BK
that are larger than it's other roundies.  Wondering if maybe they
really are supposed to be the same blue color as the others, and maybe
they just faded differentlyor (??)
I like the effect I get from the overly-cold white frosted leds from
superbriteleds.com... they are much more skewed towards blue than
regular 44s... blue leds were sort of overkill.

On the BK I traded away (sniff, sniff ;-( I used Green, Blue & Red #44
Bulbs from Pinball Life and it really brought back the colors.
I also remember the round blue inserts all fading to slightly
different colors (various light blues & one purple) possibly
relational to their size, thickness, sun exposure etc.
I have put Blue (for SPIN) & Purple (for Tickle The Ringmaster) Triple
555 LED's in our CV and it is just great (also from PBL).
