Brian,
If there is a bad connection between j4 of the CPU and J4 on the driver
board you should have more coils that do not work OR some coils that work
TWICE during coil test , if that is the case check connections between J4
cpu and J4 driver if coils fire ok in test ( except the two you mentioned)
proceed as follows...
at the moment the coils do not work, immediatly check if you have 43 volt
ON BOTH SIDES of the coil .
If not the coil is bad or a bad soldering at the soldering tips of the
coil.
IF it is ok = 43 volts at both sides , check the color of the single wire
that comes at the coil , , find this wire coming at the driver board ,
undo the connector and ground that wire the coil should fire , if NOT ,
wire between connector and coil is broken, if OK, reseat the connector ,
look at schematic witch transisor activates the pin to wich the wire is
connected , ground the metal tab of the transistor ; coil should fire,; if
not , run is broken between transistor and pin ( burned) if ok replace
transistor .

I have had this game for almost 10 months now and been having a few
problems
that maybe someone has dealt with..
The problem is that the coils for the out hole and upper right pop bumper
are not working. Game excepts credits and when the start button is
pressed
drop targets are reset. It also seems to me that the sound is a little
off
like its not hitting the right tone. All lights are working and scores
light, and switches for both none working coils.
Here is what has been done. Mpu has been replaced with an ultimate mpu.
My
driver and sound boards have been tested and check out good. I am getting
43
volt to all coils. I checked for shorts, plumb bob and tilt features to
be
working properly. I am also getting the proper 7 flashes from mpu.
This problem has been sporadic and when I seem to have found the problem
it
pops back up after a few games ..I am assuming I have a connector problem
on
j4 but can seem to be able to track it down..
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a ton Bryan
Have you checked to see if the credit button or anything on the coin
door is shorting out.
