Anyone have an Idea of what's going on with my Dino.  At  turn on he
does his usual dance back and forth ...up and down then is ready to
go.   when you play the game and get the ball in his dish so to speak
he goes down and eats it correctly slaps his jaws everything good then
as if a ballon deflating he'll sink back down and stay there forever
until you turn off the game and turn back on.....then he stands right
up does his dance again and is ready to go.     All switchs work in
test ....and they all work by hand testing also...... so what the
heck....... I've never seen this one before .....anybody got any
bright ideas??     I'm perplexed   Thanks for your
thoughts  ..........patrick

Is the switch in the trough where the ball comes to rest after being
eaten working correctly?  Kinda sounds like the game is expecting to
see the ball there, but it's not?

Just a shot in the dark, been a while since I've laid hands on a JP.

Doug

That is a weird problem.

I might check the switch for the saucer the ball sits in.  I'd also do
as Doug suggested and check the switch in the plastic trough
underneath the playfield.  Does the ball get kicked up from the VUK?- Hide quoted text -

Yes if you get the ball back in there it will keep kicking and hit him
in the nose a few times before finding it way out onto the
playfield.........?- Hide quoted text -

So the ball is staying in his mouth?  Or does he swallow it and it
comes out of the VUK on the right?- Hide quoted text -

yes he swallows and then ball comes back into play as it should out of
the vuk but I've also noticed
that he doesn't always stop at exactly the same spot......in other
words sometimes his head goes all the way down and rests in the saucer
so the ball can't go back in there. but another time he might stop
higher up so the ball can land in there and start hitting him on the
nose trying to pop out again.  .... it's kind of a freeze
thing......???- Hide quoted text -

The mechanics of the T-Rex aren't that complicated. There are two
motors, one for left-right motion, and another for up-down motion.
For left-right motion, there is a center switch, a left switch, and a
right switch. For up-down motion there is a switch signalling that
the T-Rex is upright, and another switch signalling that the T-Rex is
touching the playfield.

To diagnose your problem, next time your T-Rex starts exhibiting this
problem, stop playing. (STOP BASHING THE BALL INTO THE T-REX HEAD!
The plastic parts for the T-Rex are very difficult to replace!)
Immediately open the coin door, and go into the T-Rex diagnostics. It
will show you what switches are currently active. My bet is your "up
switch" is problematic, and causes the T-Rex to think it is already
vertical. Other possiblities are that your spring that helps the
motor get the T-Rex back to vertical is either missing, or is somehow
bent out of shape.

Report back if neither of these are the problem, and let us know what
the T-Rex diagnostics tell you.

Best of luck,

Gerry Manis.
