I going to follow Clay's guide on upgrading the rectifier board on my
son's F2K and was wondering what type of wire is best for the jumpers?
Single copper wire, stranded, guage?
Stranded and 16 gauge is what I used. ("ZIP" cord from an old lamp cord).
However I don't think a lot of those upgrades are strictly mandatory -
replacing the connectors pins, hell yes, (both male and female sides).
Great plains electronics has the .156 headers in a 7 amp version now,
which is what I use.
the one jumper mod I make (sometimes!) is the one that gets rid of the
through hole jumper already on the board - (i.e. if the through hole
fails, the jumper is there to take up the slack).
Also make sure you replace both power resistors and mount them up off
the board, and renew the heat sink grease between the vj248 rectifiers
and the metal plate. I don't do the bridge 'upgrade' either as I don't
feel it's needed, but I do it if a bridge goes out (mainly because I
have the bridges around and don't have any of the vj248's)

Scott, are you talking about replacing R1 & R2? If so, I need to buy
these. I bought the bridges, just to have on hand, but I think I will
take your approach and wait until they fail to replace.
