Re: FH shop out guide

Shouldn't need a guide to swap a FH playfield, you can do it without one :) Just take a lot of pics and have fun.

You can do it, no need to fear etc. Just take your time and go at your pace and have fun while you do it.

If you're looking at the order to assemble, pay close attention as you tear down and rebuild in reverse order.

Put the pop bumpers on first on the topside, as the leads for the GI are difficult to solder to afterwards.

I know differing opinions exist for swaps, and no method is the 'right' method and no method is the 'wrong' method, but I personally like to do all the parts that go from the top of the PF to the bottom first, such as posts, lane guides, ball trough etc, then run the switch harness, the lamp harness and finally the solenoid harness.

Clean everything as you go, new coil sleeves, etc.

Install assys that go through the PF before the harnesses, like your flippers, slings, etc.

I used to clip wires on solenoids so I knew which wire to solder where, but WPC coils (with the exception of flippers..) don't have diodes, so it doesn't matter which wire goes to which lug on most solenoids.

Print out the switch matrix, solenoid table and lamp matrix from the manual, is nice if you get caught up with where something goes.

Removing stuff from the old PF and documenting where it goes is just as important as putting it on the new PF. This is where you get your good documentation photos so if something seems strange when you put it back together, you can get a good look at how it was.

And don't fear, there are *tons* of FH pics on the internet. So, if you miss something, just ask here and someone will help.
