Never knew of a guide. Iv'e done a few PF swaps and always took lots
of pictures. Layer by layer as the parts come off photograph it. You
can't have too many pictures. On the underside I use a fine tip marker
and label the playfield as to what assembly was there. You can go
around the assembly before removing it to outline its position. I use
the marker on each connector so they don't get mixed up. I also label
the playfield as to where the assembly connectors came through from
the top. On the assemblies that don't have plugs I leave a bit of
snipped wire still attached to help identify when I solder them back
on. I use solder wick as traces for the underside and a staple gun to
anchor it.
