Re: OT: Ghost Adventures - weekly series on Travel Channel

As far as some of the other shows out having music and/or sound fx in
them is hard to fight agaist the networks. I know its been brought up
to the Ghost Hunters (plumber guys) and they loose every time to the
Sci fi channel.

Oh - no doubt. A product of stoner college kids that grew up
thinking the Blair Witch Project was a work of art, now
running the networks. But who really watches these shows
anyway? Their very own production practices totally devalue
any hint of what may have been considered a "legitimate"
experience by a viewer who is not stoned or gullible enough
to think ghosts can be captured using consumer electronics.

EVP's... captured on a portable mp3 recorder with fidelity
that's on a par with my AT&T answering machine... LOL!

Joking aside - the networks are not doing their own shows
any favours. Ditching the cheesy sound effects/music would
go a long way in helping to validate and/or legitimize some
of these peoples experiences. As they stand now, these shows
are nothing more than mindless 21st century entertainment
at best - IMO.

Actually, if you have ever been on a real
investigation or done a ghost hunt, it can be absolutely boring
hanging out all night in an empty building, house, etc. Sometimes
they come out and sometimes they dont. Not to get all touchy feely on
ya's...as a 2nd hobby of mine I wasnt sure if I believed in ghosts,
spirits or even a higher power. In the past 2 years and especially
the last 3 months I've had some things happen at places that have
completely change my mind.

Drugs are bad mmmkay? lol (not inferring anything here)

I thought we had ghosts in the attic when we first moved in to
our new house not too long ago. Would hear the damndest scratching
sounds, footsteps, moans, groans and other eerie things. Finally
gathered up enough courage to look up there. Turned out that birds
were using our insulation, among other things and managed to build
a nest up in one of the exhaust vents! That little experience
could have easily made a ghost hunter show of sorts. lol
