Rob, you need to pull the dome off and see what the material is. It's
not your typical thin vinyl decal. It's actually made out of a
thicker paper material with the artwork applied. Because of this, I
don't think your plan would work.

Because of the curved plastic piece it mounts to, many of these got
installed poorly from the factory. I don't think there's much you can
do.
