You're sure the diode is correct, and good?
A missing, shorted or mis-wired diode will cause the fuse to blow
immediately. If the fuse is blowing immediately, I'd not suspect a
CPU/driver board issues since the board is simply supplying the ground and a
shorted transistor on this board will simply lock the coil on where a
shorted diode will tie 50V to ground. Now if the TIP36 on the PPB board is
shorted, it can cause a fuse to blow, so...
There are several coils that could be "the coil that launches the ball," I
assume it's the auto launch in the shooter lane which is Q44 on the
CPU/Driver and Q5 on the PPB.
The coil that launches the ball into the shooter lane is controlled by Q45.
The upper ball launch is controlled by Q43.
If your diode is good and wired properly I'd suspect Q5 is your problem and
can be tested in the game to confirm.
Hope this helps.

Recently purchased a Baywatch that has an error I can't resolve. The

coil, same problem. When the wires are disconnected, no
problem...everything else works. Any ideas?
Also, what is the correct coil for this?
