I'm sick of the tournament settings and ridiculous Tilt settings. They
take the fun out of pinball. For me anyway. To each their own.

Fair enough, but hour-long games aren't much fun either. I agree
there can be a happy medium. PAPA seems to do a nice job of
ratcheting up the difficulty of games from C to B to A. Tighter
tilts, harder software settings, etc. But there are exceptions -- in
this year's A Division, the Pirates played crazy difficult while the
Creature was kind and friendly.

An example is Stewie Pinball mini PF going dead after 20 seconds. BS,
I've never seen that setting on a routed machine.

And you never see players on routed machines whose only goal is to
score as many points as possible, regardless of the method or time it
takes. What happens on Stewie Pinball when the ball whips around the
orbit? Relatively safe to stop the ball, right? Relatively easy to
shoot the orbit again? Now put a top player on that machine, and they
will extract gobs of points. Having Stewie Pinball time out after 20
seconds makes it a far more even test of pinball skill, and is
absolutely the right way to set the game for competition. Your
suggested settings would have ruined the final of the World
Championship.

The party had a band, volleyball, heated pool, catered food, ponies
and a four wheeler on 7 acres. I had fun. I hope all of those who
attendedPAPAdid as well and traveled safely. Even with the sensitive
Tilt settings.

I'm glad you enjoyed your pony ride. I preferred being in a giant
hall with 350 pinball games and my friends from around the world.
Thanks Kevin, Steve, Dave, and the rest of the PAPA staff. They did
an outstanding job, as ever.
