OT: Announcement


I now have REC.GAMES.PINBALL archived back to 2005, with over 703,000
posts that are searchable. This is not a replacement for that group,
rather an alternate way to access it should GOOGLE'S interface go down
like it has in the past. Trust me, my site will be down more than
GOOGLE'S.

You CAN post through my site to rec.games.pinball just like on google
and it will be viewable by all in under 2 minutes. I SYNC with Giganews
every other minute. You will have to register just like on GOOGLE to
post to the group.


What rgparchive.com can offer that GOOGLE currently does not is the
ability to post pictures and have specific forums for specific hardware
types and also general announcement areas for PINBALL events and such.

rgparchive.com is in it's infancy and will slowly develop as I get a
better idea on what I want to center around as far as PINBALL is
concerned, but an archive of RGP will always be paramount.

If anyone is knowledgable as a Vbulletin Moderator, has moderated in
the past, and wishes to moderate at rgparchive.com, please send me an
email to nacman_01@xxxxxxxxx or PM me on the board. I will definitely
need some help on the forums.

I am open for ideas, I have a good host, access to MySql, PHP and
pretty much unlimited space.


As a side note, I emailed the RGP faq keeper with a request to be added
to the resource links area of the faq, but have not heard back from him.
If anyone can get this info to him I would like to be included in the
official faq.

Lastly, this is a labor of love of pinball and not a commercial site.
That said, there will be NO PORN LINKS, NO BANNER AD'S, just the site. I
will have appropriate links and places to advertise your stuff or site,
but not clutter up the viewing experience to do it.

This will be the last posting promoting rgparchive.com on
rec.games.pinball
so bookmark it now.
