Re: Flash Gordon-- Color Matching ???

When I started with mine it was pink, gray and a design that looked like it
might have been gold at one point in its life. I just picked out three
colors I liked and painted it. Mine would never be a showpiece, so I didn't
spend too much time trying to match the original tint.
My point is, I think it will be so much more cosmetically appealing when
you're done, that the tint of the colors won't matter. But then again, I'm a
weirdo.

If you don't mind my asking, where did you get the stencils? Are they
the ones done by Classic Arcades? I see BAA has a set listed with the
picture that looks like the one on the Classic Arcades site. If so,
how accurate does the set look.
I need a set, and was hoping that PinballPal might start making them.
I really liked the look of his new material when I saw it at
Allentown, and I had great luck with a set of Paragon stencils from
him using the old material. Very accurate and the results were
stunning. My cabinet is in OK shape now, but a bit faded. The last
thing I want is a set of bad stencils. That would be far worse than
leaving it alone.
Also, I really want to see a good quality set of stencils available
for when I finish drawing the playfield for CPR so that machines can
get the full restore treatment all at once.
Please let us know how it goes with the set you have.

I got it from Classic Arcade, Jeff said it was his last set and that
was a couple of months ago... I doubt it was his last set, I also
notice BAA is now selling them, I am also curious if they got them
from Jeff.
Neo, its hard to color match something that is already faded, reds
on almost every flash gordon is usually off and more of a pinkish/
red. I am throwing a lot of money into this project and would like
everything to be spot on.
