Eric, If tour asking about the late 70's thur early 80's it is a 25

Yes, but I think you mean 25,000 ohms instead of 25, right? I
experimented with a 10 k pot today and added 8 k to it and it still
didn't quite go low enough.

I couldn't get one at Radio Hack so I'm using a 50 k pot and
connecting one of the outside leads to the middle lug/wire and that
way it reduces the overall resistance of the pot.
