Most people where I work know I love pinball. On Monday a guy tells me
that he saw one at a rummage sale over the weekend. He couldn't
remember the name which always drives me crazy. He said it didn't look
to be in too bad of shape and they wanted $250 for it. He said his
wife knows the seller and he'll have her get the number for me. Of
course the curiosity is killing me as a couple days pass.
Today he talks to his wife after I harass him a little bit. I get the
number and call. They still have it. It's a Gorgar, the owner says it
worked when they got it and slowly started to deteriorate. Although I
hear it is a fun game I'm not crazy about the theme (a little dark)
and have very little SS knowledge. With that said it may be fun to
play something that is a departure from my other games. Is a
replacement system 6 board something that can be found easily? I would
guess battery damage slowly took it out? Is that the worst case
scenario? Assuming it's decent cosmetically, is the price fair? Any
thoughts or opinions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex
Average price from Boston Pinball's eBay sales thingymojig puts Gorgar
at around 600 dollars.
Price sounds pretty good. And please, repair the board, don't just
replace it. Could be a little corrosion, some bad transistors, blown
fuses.. who knows.
