Can you honestly say that *all* of the clothes you are wearing were made in the

Nope. Never claimed they were.
How about that computer you are using, or that TV you watch?
Can't make any claims for the computer, since there's no real alternative there.
As far as the TV, i'm only on my second TV in my lifetime, and my first one was
Made in USA, along with the VCR I bought at the same time (which I still own,
and it still works, from 1991. Have your chinese item beat that lifespan.) The
second and current TV is a big screen Philips, which says "Assembled in
Greeneville TN" which last I checked was in the USA; unfortunately it's too
sneaky and doesn't say where the parts were sourced.
Where do you draw the line? Because it is IMPOSSIBLE to go 100% American - and
probably darn near impossible to buy even a majority of American-made products.
You're right, but does that mean I should just cave in and buy nothing but
imported garbage because it's cheaper and more convenient in the short-term?
You must starve too, not buying foreign fruits and veggies. And you *do* know
that a good percentage of McDonald's beef comes from Argentina, don't you?
Not all fruits and vegetables are from foreign sources. And the sticking point
I named was china, not Argentina, Mexico, or elsewhere. Argentina is not china.
They may not love us but they're also not our enemy. And china IS our enemy,
regardless of what the jackasses that opened up trade with them would have you
believe. Nice attempt at diversion but I give you a "fail."
And who said I eat at McDonald's? That's not food. But I guess if chinese
garbage tools are okay for you, then so is imitation food.
I'm done with this thread. I knew it could be a sensitive issue, but please
don't play holier-than-thou. I'll bet you have a lot of "foreign" things in
your house.
While it's increasingly difficult to go without buying foreign items (thanks
partially to people like you that don't mind buying them), you'd be pretty damn
amazed if you wanted to do a "made in china" raid on my home and shop. You'll
turn up an asbolute minimum of that garbage. I know it's probably impossible
for you to believe such a thing could be true, since you've forsaken your
country (assuming you're an alleged "American") for cheap products long ago.
It's not a "holier-than-thou" routine; it's a "wake the *** up America, yes you
can blame big business all you want but if you didn't buy it, they couldn't sell
it" routine. I'll bang this drum as often as I please, because I practice what
I preach. I can see that you do, too.
