Re: John Wart are you ok down there???

Hey John, didn't know you were so close to Cincinnati.. for some
reason I had placed you in NE Indiana.

I saw that storm on our radar last night around 2am when it started
getting windy. I expected it to hit us, so we battened down the
hatches, but when I woke up and checked radar loop, it hadn't budged
all night. "Sit n spin" right over south-central IN all night and
half the day. Crazy rain out of that thing... no idea why it didn't
move east like all the other storms we've had.

Good luck - fortunately, it looks like the rain has quit for a couple
days. When you dry out, come visit for some pinball :)

You aren't kidding!

Earlier this afternoon, I was heading with my son to visit my folks. About
an hour earlier than that, my wife took our daughter to visit her folks in
Edinburgh.

After trying a few main roads that got me nowhere, I made a quick trip to
get some groceries and headed home. No way I was gonna make it across town!

Wife tried to come home, was unable to find a street that wasn't closed to
get home, had to turn around and head back North to her folks place. Got
word that a major bridge on US31 that was on her path home may have
collapsed just a couple minutes ago.

There's a small park in my neighborhood, it has water nearly up to the
street.

Another road near here went from dry to 4 feet of water over it in less than
an hour.

The Columbus hospital had to evacuate - the basement of it was full of water
in 45 minutes and starting to cover the first floor.

So, my son and I are riding it out. Not a lot of choice, if we wanted to go
somewhere, there are no roads we could take.

We have power, food, water, blankets. Some folks in my area don't have that.
Trying to stay positive. Thanks for thinking of us!
