Fred has a good point. Last time I checked the board ran $600 - that
was a year or two ago, but the price should be comparable. It should
be less expensive to get the board repaired than to buy a new one.
Clive called it when he said it was shot.....it took 50 volts when the
knocker got turned on. I've had it gone thru locally and he found
everything Clive said would be damaged/probably not repairable....and
some of the parts are already unavailable. I'll try calling
Stern...but will keep my eyes open for a board in the meanwhile.
How did the CPU get damaged from a coil being driven? Wouldn't that be
the power driver board that took damage? I've never seen any of them
that were not repairable. I fixed one that came out of a T3 that had a
hole in it the size of a dime. I've also never seen any parts on
either board that were NLA.
Stern, or a Stern distributor, can fix that board.

Unless the kit is driven by teh CPU, I've never seen one so I have no
clue as to where it hooks up.
If thats the case then you might have surface mounted parts that fried
(if your game has the latest CPU). Stern should still be able to fix
that board.
