Good to know that others think their pin may have received the same
treatment. I don't think it would have been cut to aid in quick
teardown for transport because the other two wires are intact and the
cut is on the forward side of the plug...thus the plug would still
have to be disconnected to allow the wires to be seperated from the
head. I will make the fix and see if anything occurs.
Thanks for your insights.

I'm thinking someone cut it in a rush to disassemble for transport and

I would fix it.
If some issue comes up because you hook it back up (though not
likely), look for another solution.
Ground should remain intact inside any single piece of equipment.
Ground loops arepossible, but more common between two seperate pieces
of equipment plugged into separate power outlets.
At least that has been my experience.

Has anyone heard of the green with yellow stripped wire (looks to be a
ground wire) being cut for a reason? This wire is in the three pack
of wires that come up from the cabinet into the head and connects into
the main board on the back side of pin (behind the monitor). The
green/yellow stripped wire is cut very neatly up in the head, so it
does not seem that it was pinched and cut accidently. Just wondering
if it was potentially cut to reduce monitor noise or something? Any
help appreciated.

I'm pretty sure my machine has the same thing. Must of been a pretty
common practice.- Hide quoted text -
