Yeah, but sometimes I try to download a manual and walk away and 2
hours later it is not downloaded and the system hangs. For small
manuals for a game like Hot Hand...I think that WILL download. But I
know one time I just wanted to look up a small detail on White Water
and the system hung every time. So I learned not to rely on IPDB.

Granted though, if I DO buy a game, I also buy a hard copy manual.

Yes it does, but I am hoping someone knows if there is a list that
posts all the settings or in the very least knows the sound settings
for most games. Really I would only be interested in the early to mid
80's machines as these were the only machines that had the offending
raising background sound.

AFAIK there is no such animal out there.

Hmmm, that sounds like room for another post here at RGP. "List your
game's service settings". So if the animal doesn't exist...lets make
one.

<<Paragon is a great game.>>

Yes, I am finding that out. I am still waiting for my friend to get
his...since that is what he settled on. I would like to take a shot
at the real McCoy again. So far I am stuck with VP, but I do like the
game.

A game I really will love to like is Centaur...and that is a standard
body game to boot! I just seem to never get comfortable with this
game...in real life AND in VP. Granted this is another game I only
played once or twice in my youth and from what I gather the VP version
isn't that good. I DID put Centaur on my playfield want list though.
It could be something I could muck around with for my computer
project. What I find appealing about Centaur is that it offers a lot
in that playfield. Combined captive ball / in-line drops, magnet,
hidden targets behind drop targets. Up to 5 ball multi ball. Outlane
ball saves. So yeah, there is a lot there. The B/W HR Giger
influenced art is cool too. But playfields that I seen for sale
lately are so bad that they would need a complete sand down to get rid
of all the ball damage. Again, that is another story.
