Re: A little off topic:My house is on the market and prospective buyers offer.

I am also having issues selling my Dad's place in Reno. No offers for
one thing. Priced at tax value. Nevada is ranked at the top of the
foreclosure list doesn't help either. Hopefully Spring will bring out
a buyer. Either way I am making payments that are just throwing money
away. The sale value is not going to recover the payments I have
made, so each month I am basically throwing money away just trying to
get out from under this Albatross.

Prices are down, understandably. Although the government continues to
talk about the millions of new jobs they create every year we are
still spiraling downward.

Maybe because many the new jobs were created with tax dollars, not out
of "necessity" as jobs should be created, and they are minimum wage or
slightly higher. Many are temporary contract type jobs with no
future. No home buyers in that group.

For the first time in the history of where I work they are talking
layoffs. We are at contract time right now and they are telling us
they have no money, (as usual). Funny thing is the board of directors
just gave the General Manager a %10 raise and the Assistant GM at 7%
raise. ??????????

NAFTA has come of age and everyone is now having to face that. I
still remember people telling me, "Oh the government won't let
anything bad happen, it's just change". Baaahhhhhh. Unemployment is
down another 15%. Auto manufacturers are downsizing again as they
can't sell the cars from last year. Gas prices should hit $4 a gallon
here on the west coast, as promised, come June.

Housing is a pyramid scheme. When they can't buy at the bottom you
can't sell at the top. Plain and simple. Everyone can't make $100K
profit for 3 years of ownership when wages go in the other direction.
No brainer here. This economic joke has to crash, and it has. Those
who profited are laughing, the rest are in trouble.

I hope you can sell but I think the reality is sellers are going to
have to make more and more concessions as this continues, or just stay
put. IMHO.
