I didn't see pirates or LOTR before playing the games, and after a few
months of playing both, I watched the movies (because of the games).
Its a very embarrassing process watching the movies with your friends
and going "Oh i get this part! This is the thing that happens when you
(do something in the pinball game)!"
I also kinda like the games having licensed themes, because it makes
them more fun to look forward to when the titles are originally
announced. I'm really excited about the new batman pin because I
liked batman begins and I like other gomez games, so now i'm even more
so looking forward to both the movie and the game. And because I know
what the movie is about, I have a good idea of what the pin might be
like. Now if stern said "we've got a surfing themed game coming out
this summer!" what could I anticipate? Yes, the idea of having a
completely clean slate to work with is nice, but i'd rather have it
based off of something I might already like.
