I don't want to experiment with this thing. Only use it properly.
- Walnut media is the right stuff. In the future you can buy it at
pet supply stores or gun stores. Cheaper at pet stores.
- Yes, it vibrates.
- Read your instructions it will tell you how full to fill with
media. Probably 2/3-3/4 full.
- You can add one or many parts at one time. If the part is very
special and highly visible, you might want to polish by itself. As
far as nuts, bolts, most playfield posts go, load it up. You can
watch for a minute with the top off and make sure the parts are
tumbling. Just don't load so full that the parts don't tumble well.
- The length of time it takes will depend on what condition the parts
are in to begin with, what metal they are made of, and what kind of
condition you want them to be in when complete. It may take several
hours or several days.
I wash and dry parts before putting them in but others do not. My
parts tend to be 40-50 year old parts with lots of crud so it makes
sense to me. It allows the media to last longer and polish more
effectively when the parts are clean before placing them in the
polisher.
