It is probably the switch that had some beer spilled in and corroded over.
Try shorting across the two wires to the volume down button. If that works,
replace the switch.

Wow! First of all, slow down there fella. U17, U18, U19, U20, D12, R45,
D14 and R43 have nothing to do with the volume down control and it's very
unlikely that the ROM, CPU or ASIC would cause this single issue.
You could very easily be creating other issues by replacing chips
unnecessarily.
Have you checked continuity from the orange/blue wire at the coin door to
the cathode side of D13? That's where I'd look first. If continuity was
there I'd then check continuity from D13 to U16 and from U16 to U15. With
all the chips replaced, it's very possible you've got a bad trace.
If all is good there, I'd break out the logic probe or O-scope and see if
the inputs are pulsing on those chips and if they're changing state when
they should when the button is pushed. When you get to the chip that
isn't changing state, there's your problem.

Hello all
I have a problem on my Shadow WPC pinball
for which the button (at the door) no longer works. With an embedded
CPU from another pin, everything works perfectly, ie that the mistake
must be on the card.
At this time i have replaced on this cpu :
U4-U6-U9-U15-U17-U16-U20-U19-U18
Check D12 /R45 D14/R43 and all are ok.
but it is the same problem and i don't find
The Game is ok to play but the down button don't work
Can anyone give me an answer and do you have a idea for replace other
IC ?
Thx ! Thx !
regards
.
