Sorry you had a bad buyer. :( I always ship same day or next day and
I got slammed because the buyer wanted free shipping on a 30 lb item
in an oversize box. I miscalculated and ate $18. of the shipping but
the buyer was still not happy paying any shipping. My stars are ok
still, all are 4.9 except shipping which is 4.7
Just wait until the new policy goes into affect. If you get a couple
bad buyers that give you 1s or 2s on the DSR rating, ebay will take
that into consideration for buyer dissatisfaction. It's just bull how
ebay is becoming so anti small or medium seller. They just want the
power sellers apparently.
I am looking at some other sites to sell on instead of ebay. I'm
considering www.onlineauctions.com That is where some sellers are
heading. No pins on there yet but it is a newer site and just starting
out. It reminds me of how Ebay used to be. No listing fees. You can
use google checkout instead of PP. If buyers can't find what they are
looking for on Ebay, they'll start buying from other sites and "OLA"
is on google and the other search engines. I think the potential is
there for them to take a share of ebays market.
In case you haven't read it, From ebays new policy, and there is alot
of talk about how ebay is going to define "riskier categories" It may
be anything over a certain dollar amount.
Safe Payments
To help ensure more buyers are protected, in some cases we'll require
sellers to offer either PayPal or a merchant credit card to customers.
PayPal buyer protection covers most qualified transactions up to
$2000.00 USD.
Sellers will only be required to provide this safe payment option to
customers in certain situations:
For listings in riskier categories, like computers and cell phones
If the seller has 5% or more dissatisfied customers
If the seller has less than 100 Feedback
In a small number of cases (fewer than 5% of all payments on eBay),
PayPal will hold payment funds until either the buyer has left
positive Feedback or 21 days have passed without a claim.
