No...no BFM is necessary.
Match the gears on the plastic that is pulled in by the coil with the
gears on the reel unit. Match them so that the gears provide maximum
"travel" when the coil pulls in. The rest is pretty simple. If that
doesn't do it for you, what particular part are you struggling to
reassemble?

OK, so that Top Card I was so enamored with on Sat.:http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.pinball/browse_frm/thread/cb...
is already kicking my butt.
The score reel on the 1000 unit was especially sluggish, so I
inspected the coil, sleeve and plunger (I am rebuilding them all per
pinrepair directions). The plunger was really gooped up with probably
dried WD40. After fiddling around with it for quite awhile I was able
to get it apart, clean up the sleeve, coil stop and plunger. The
decagon is a later one with the round wheels. Here is the problem:
I DO know how it goes together.
I DON'T know how to assemble it. - Sort of like one of those bar
puzzles with the two horse shoes welded to a chain and you need to get
the ring off.
Any hints? What goes together first, hold this thing like that, get
out a BFH? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks much.
