People do that around here all the time.  Depends on how you regard
copyright.  Many people see nothing ethically wrong with helping
someone else fix a game (and really, that's all these decals are ever
used for anyway).  The game came with the art originally - the decals
just fix that art.

So the defense of "other people do it so it is ok" is an acceptable
one to you? People can absolutely recreate artwork on their own game
in order to repair it. Why do some folks have such a difficult time
understanding copyight law. Your statement of "depends on how you
regard copyright law" speaks volumes as to the mentality of some
people on here. Doesn't matter how I regard it...it is plain and
simple, you can't copy artwork that is copyrighted by someone else
and sell it.

Do you ever share music amongst your family members or friends, or
copy a neat article for your co-workers, or even grab cute pics from
the web and send them to your buddies?   Same law, same violations,
same penalties...  same indifference.

I don't share music. If there is something I like I buy ot online.
Regardless, your analogy is a little off. A more accurate analogy
would be to duplicate CD's and SELL them to people.
I find it so amazing how many folks on this newsgroup like to turn it
into the Peoples Republic of RGP whenever we talk about IP rights.
Didn't know we had so many communists on here.

Or is it all ok because it was Gary that got stiffed for $200? If Gary
had been on the other end, would many of the same folks be crying
about how he violates copyright law? What Gary did was absolutley
dumb. He attempted to buy something that he knew full well was not
licensed. He got burned. He is crying about a crook ripping him off.
What did you expect...the dude is a crook!!!
