I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the nay-sayers out
there. If it wasn't for you, I'd probably be frustrated and upset
that the schedule for my completed MM continues to be set back. Your
comments, however, can be so venomous and so far off base that they
seem to bring out my natural inclination to defend the downtrodden. I
Please don't lump all the 'naysayers' into the same basket. Sure,
there are those who hate wayne and take gleeful opportunity to jab him
over this project, but many (such as Kyle) are simply looking at what
wayne and his customers post, looking at reality, and scratching their
heads and asking "what am I missing?" In this case, what is missing
is any kind of proof that the games are on schedule for mid 2008
(delayed from end of 2007, delayed from 2006, etc). There isn't any
animosity here, just a genuine lack of credibility in what Wayne and
Rick are claiming.
find myself rooting for TPF just to prove you wrong.
...an the fact you sent them $2500 a couple years go has nothing at all
to do with said rooting? ;)
So "thank you" for assisting me in not making a silly decision like
asking for a refund. "Thank you" for giving me the ability to
recognize legitimate production delays and learning curve issues.
Asking for a refund may indeed be a silly course of action... then
again, not asking for one might cost you your $2500. If you're
satisfied with the progress made, then by all means keep your money in
the pot. Just be aware of what Kyle said: that money is being spent,
and if the cash runs out before the games are done, you might not get
anything (or you may get a MM with "some assembly required" :) We're
just the peanut gallery here, but that doesn't mean our opinions
aren't valid.
"Thank you" for not letting my frustration get in the way of
understanding that actual progress is really being made. If it wasn't
for you kind-hearted folks, I might have missed the great opportunity
to be playing a great machine later in 2008.
Two points: you must have seen some "actual progress" that we
haven't. Also, you could easily be playing a MM next week - no need
to wait - just buy one. Plenty out there. Considering the delays,
lost investment income on your deposit and exchange rate changes, the
TPF MM will have cost you close to what a restored WMS machine would.
