Re: Mirror Glaze pinball question

Tool Supply is not the same as the original Mirror Ball guy from a few
years back. His pinballs were carbon steel if I remember correctly.

I've bought chrome steel pinballs from the ebay seller Tool Supply on
a few occasions and have had no problems. I use the chrome steel
balls in machines with no magnets. Tool Supply is no stranger to
selling bearings as his other auctions point out. The balls come
lightly greased and packed tightly in brown paper sleeves of five
balls each. Wipe the oil off and you have a perfect, unmarked ball.

The idea of packing in paper seems a little strange, but I think its
better than plastic at keeping the balls dry. If a sealed plastic
container cools during shipping there could be condensation on the
inside of the container that has no way to escape... I've bought
balls before from "another" mirror ball seller and they came in a
Rubbermaid container. They jostled together for a thousand miles in
the back of a truck to get here, so they lost the mirror finish. A
bunch of them had surface rust too.

Pinball Life has a great deal on balls. A buck a piece and volume
discounts starting at 50 balls. These are carbon steel, so they can
be used in machines with magnets...

using that name for the pinballs he is selling now. My question is
are the the same item? Has anyone bought them from Tool Supply guy,
and if so, what do you think. He used to sell polished steel bearings
as pinballs (the old standard) I have bought other nylon balls for a
shooting gallery, and smaller polished steel bearings for a William's
baseball and all is good as far as those go. (No offence meant to the
Tool Supply guy if he reads this).
