Power Consumption and Extension Cords

The guy who previously owned my house finished the basement but did
not do so up to code. I have entire walls without a single power
outlet. I have three pins (two solidstate and one EM) along one of
these walls. Here's the question: Is it safe to use a single
extension cord with a total of nine plugs in it to plug in these three
pins, two lamps and a neon clock? That cord, of course, would be
plugged into a single outlet. Is the draw from the components
descrbed above too much for a standard indoor extension cord? I would
rather not have to go to a second extension cord due to the clutter.
I appreciate your expert opinions.
