Randy Buffalo? What happened there?
He was kind of the benchmark for a good intentioned idea that went really bad in
the end. In a nutshell he was a lone guy that was trying to do a nationwide
delivery service for the coin-op collector community. Most everyone was
pro-Randy for a long time, the guy was living in his truck basically, struggling
from repair to repair trying to keep going, but in the end his business
collapsed suddenly and all the games that he had picked up but not delivered got
stuck in a weird limbo. Thanks to the efforts of a bunch of collectors a lot of
the games were finally reunited with their rightful owners, but I know of at
least one that wasn't.
In terms of a disaster, it wasn't anything like 2.5 million dollars being lost,
but it was a big deal to the people involved at that time.
