Actually I would disagree with that statement. I fix computers for a
living and I replace power supplys all the time. Its very common to have a
power supply that gets marginal and the computer will occasionally reboot or
reboot as windows begins to load. In a normal computer, the easist way to
verify that its the supply is to unhook several peripherals (such as 2nd
hard drives or dvd drives) and then the machine will completely boot (due
to the load being reduced).
Its very very uncommon for a pc style supply to go bad and go overvoltage
(which would ruin the motherboard.
This type of situation is also valid for megatouches (which are essentially
pcs)
Yes,it makes good sense to replace that also,but more often than not
the power supply goes out,it takes everything with it.
