Don't know much about the eddy boards, but you'll want to hook up with
Martin Reynolds here ('martin') or send him an email (his website is
pinbits.com). He knows that thing inside and out - plus you'll want to
purchase the updated microprocessor he's got for that board - it
solves many problems regarding hits to the ringmaster.

Pulled the Eddy board and tried it in another machine and it works
perfectly
I already bought one of his boards but the board is not the problem. I
tried it in a friends machine and it works perfectly. So now I have 2
boards. I will run through the wires in the matrix and see if I can
locate the problem. Thanks for the suggestion Lloyd.
OK, first step is to debug the switch matrix. You'll need a length of
wire (2 - 3 feet) with bare ends about 1/2" long.
Put the machine into switch test mode, raise the playfield, and pull
the four-pin connector to the eddy board
The connector has four wires. The two on the left, connector held
wires hanging down and viewed from the top, should be white-blue and
green-brown.
Stuff your bare ended wires into the connector holes connected to
these wires. That should cause the eddy switch to register, but in
your case, it sounds like you have a broken wire somewhere.
So the next step is to see which one is broken.
Leave one end of the wire in the green-brown hole. Touch the other end
to the white-xxx wire on a nearby switch. If that beeps, the
connection is OK.
Repeat with the wire moved to the white-blue connection, this time
shorting to the green-xxx connection on a nearby switch.
One of these tests should fail. Whichever one fails, indicates that
you have a problem with the switch matrix wiring for that wire. You'll
need to follow the wire back up the playfield. You can use your length
of wire as a test piece as you do so. You are looking for a wire that
has fallen off of a switch , or a switch that is miswired. Youll know
when you find it because the test lead will beep where the wire goes
into the switch, but not where it comes out.
The switch matrix chart in the back opf the manual shows you where the
wires should go.- Hide quoted text -

I put the 2 wires in the connector but the eddy sensor did not
register when I placed them in there. It does register when I attach
it back to the board. I tried both tests from each hole and both were
registering on switches. Since both are registering does this mean I
should look elsewhere? Perhaps the board has an issue. In the switch
test mode the eddy sensor shows that it is always on. Is it supposed
to be on all the time.- Hide quoted text -

I am beginning to think that your connector is miswired.
The eddy board should normally be open.
The light on the eddy board should flash at power up, then go dark.
Then, a ball should cause the light to come on. Is that happening?- Hide quoted text -

it does not light up at all, the only time it registers is when I put
the connector onto the board.- Hide quoted text -

I also tried swapping the CPU from another game and it still did'nt
work. I believe your right about a the connector being miswired.- Hide quoted text -

Here's a picture of how the wiring should look:

Check that blue-white wire all the way back to the head. It could be a
connecto or transistor problem on the power-driver board.- Hide quoted text -

You're awesome! I followed that blue wire back to the driver board and
there is a small plug halfway down the playfield that was'nt
connected. That was the problem. It works perfectly now!- Hide quoted text -

While you are at it, you should drop in the new eddy board and set the
machine to "no automatic eddy sensor". It will really improve your
ringmaster hits.- Hide quoted text -

I already have the new eddy board in but i'll change the settings on
it.
