I see nothing wrong with it. I do the same. However, in my Ebay
auction I EXPLICITLY state that the machine is for sale locally, and
through other pinball sales sites, and that I reserve the right to
sell the machine through these means as well and remove the auction
early. After all, it is HIS machine, and he can sell it to anyone he
wants. I figure, if someone sees it on Ebay, and "waits" to put in a
bid to try to get it cheap, but someone comes locally and picks it up
in the meantime, that's not my problem. I'm upfront and honest about
it in my auction listing, and I don't remove the auction unless it IS
SOLD. There are other, less scrupulous people here that just put the
reason as the "Item was removed because it was lost or broken." Come
on! It's not like it's a f*%#(ing packet of peanuts, now is it?!?!
Overall, I don't see a problem having it listed as both. I go the
extra step and make sure that I let any Ebay bidders KNOW this is the
case up front in my auctions. For an example, look at the No Fear I
am currently selling on Ebay. (Should hit Mr. Pinball tomorrow).

Al - Not trying to be a stick in the mud with your business practice
but technically, by you stating you are selling it locally and via
other pinball sites you are in violation of Ebay sellers policy - Any
references in the auction that reference potential out of ebay sale of
the item constitutes avoidance of paying Ebay fees...

Though you are lucky that no one has turned you in by now there is a
whole section on it....

John,
That "section" is referring to when you are communicating with
BIDDERS and are making arrangements to sell the item to a BIDDER
outside of Ebay. Ebay CANNOT prohibit anyone from also listing their
items for sale elsewhere. I do not tell bidders to contact me outside
of Ebay, and notice that I don't tell them how to get ahold of me
outside of Ebay. Check your Ebay policies, read them carefully, and
THEN give people Ebay advice. The policy SPECIFICALLY talks about
that it is not permitted to solicit sales outside of Ebay from
BIDDERS. I am not, and do not tell them where it is listed to contact
me outside of Ebay. In fact, someone IS permitted to contact a seller
and ask to remove an item for a current bid, just not at a higher
bid. In case you aren't sure how to find the ACTUAL Ebay policy, here
it is:

Offers to buy or sell listed items outside of the eBay site are not
permitted. Offers of this nature are a potential fraud risk for both
buyers and sellers and circumvent eBay's fees.

Some examples of offers outside of the eBay site include:

Using member contact information obtained from eBay or using any eBay
system to offer to sell any listed item outside of eBay

Canceling a listing to sell to a buyer who became aware of the item
through eBay

Ending a listing early to sell the item at a higher price to the
winning bidder

Offering to sell an item to a bidder in a Reserve Not Met listing
without going through Second Chance Offer

Offering to sell duplicate or additional merchandise to under-bidders
without going through Second Chance Offer

Sending unsolicited (without prior permission) commercial email offers
to bidders for the same or similar products that they have bid on in
the past

It is acceptable for sellers to end a listing early in order to sell
an item at the current bid price to the high bidder. Bidders are
permitted to contact sellers with requests to end a listing early and
sell at the current bid price; however, sellers are under no
obligation to honor the request.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

Listing cancellation

Limits on account privileges

Account suspension

Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings

Loss of PowerSeller status

So, next time you "try" to give some Ebay advice to someone, how about
KNOWING WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT first, ok???

First - I was not trying to be a *** but I guess you had too...

2nd... Circumventing EBAY fees only lists SOME Examples....

By you posting that it is on other sites though you do not
specifically state PINBALL CLASSIFIEDs or state that you have it on
craigslist or a store... You do however have your ZIP Code and mention
information that it will also be sold outside of Ebay.. This shows
Ebay that you would terminate the auction early and avoid paying the
final sales fee... Yes you can terminate early and there is a whole
section on that but we are talking about ending an auction to sell off
ebay so ebay only gets the posted fees and not the final sales fees
which is a violation of yet another policy for which you are listing
it on Ebay site for.. Like I stated while "I" Find nothing wrong with
your business transaction it COULD be interpreted as you trying to
CIRCUMVENT indirectly Ebay Fees...

While you set there at 97 stars on your Ebay account I have over 3
times the transactions as you...
